Europcar Sweden (Europeisk Biluthyrning AB), with headquarters in Stockholm, has trusted Asysco to go ahead with migrating their business critical car booking and reporting system, currently residing on a Unisys mainframe.
They will use Asysco Migration Technology (AMT) LION for converting their LINC code based applications and DMS II databases into a modern and open Windows environment.
Europcar is currently using a Unisys LINC/EAE application environment to handle car reservations and logistics, and underlying financials and management reporting. This is a 24x7 operation, putting a high demand on the central system. Approximately 100 rental offices, which are spread all over Sweden, are connected to the central environment.
As an end result of the migration process, and in addition to substantially lowering their TCO, Europcar is looking forward to a more flexible and proactive approach in the delivery of new functions to their business users, as well as a significant improvement of their reporting system. Last but not least, they also expect more transparency and better service, by implementing a new support model for their environment.
The decision in favor of AMT-LION has been fully supported both from a technical and a business perspective. The project duration is expected to be 6 months.
